BOARD MEETING

SEPTEMBER 11, 2007

 

Attendance:  Suzanne Brozek, JoAnn Witek, Rachel Kinicki, Donna Bottari, Susan Krikorian, Wendy Bryson, Walter Miska, Michelle Christensen, Lee Ann Tyler, Erica Davidson, Kathy Johnson, Lisa Soo, Jen Moss, Pam Nourse

Secretary’s Report:  Marcia Epstein.  A motion was made, seconded, and accepted to approve the August 16 Secretary’s Report.  Thank you to Lisa Soo for preparing same.

Treasurer’s Report.  Lisa Soo.  Car Wash brought in $1,800.  Membership dues are $3,200 with additional money coming in.  Uniforms:  more income expected as pieces sold through the year.  Money is on hold for scholarship funds and student accounts.  Available funds:  $20,646.04.  A copy of the Treasurer’s Report is attached to and made a part of these Minutes.

Director’s Report:

Jen Moss.   A request was made to purchase more black bowties.  A motion was made, seconded, and accepted to allocate a contingent amount of $250 to purchase bowties.    …..    In the works is a combined concert this spring with Lexington High School’s choir and concert.  … Cabaret weekend is scheduled the weekend before Thanksgiving.

New Attire:  Walter Miska, Embroider Me.  Walter presented samples of Jackets for purchase to replace the traditional “Bomber Jacket” style.  The cost of the new-style jacket would be $52.99 if part of a larger order.  The “ABRHS” lettering on the back would lower the price.  In addition, long and short-sleeved shirts, similar to the ones presently used but with different fiber content, would be available for $18 for short sleeves, $24 for long sleeves.  Volume would lower price.  A motion was made, seconded, and accepted to contract with Embroider Me to supply the new-style winter jackets.

Membership:  Erica Davidson.   $2,400 in membership dues.  An additional $704 has come in the form of donations.  175 members have given additional donations on top of their dues.  (additional money since the preparation of the Treasurer’s Report)

Golf Tournament:  Suzanne Brozek for Walter Foster.  To date there are 52-68 golfers and sponsors are continuing to sign up.  Rosemary                 is heading up the silent auction.  Still accepting dinner reservations.

MOTION TO ADJOURN BUSINESS PORTION AND BEGIN THE GENERAL INFORMATION MEETING MADE, SECONDED AND ACCEPTED.
