BOARD MEETING MINUTES
SEPTEMBER 9, 2008
Attending: Suzanne Brozek, Jen Moss, Lisa Soo, Sue Niro, Erica Davidson, Beth McDonough, Michelle Christensen, Karen Parrott, Marcia Cece Epstein
Secretary’s Report: Marcia Cece Epstein. A motion was made, seconded and approved to accept the August 4, 2008 Secretary’s Report.
Treasurer’s Report: Lisa Soo. Car wash reaped a $1,725 profit…. Event revenue paid for busses to transport students to Leominster, MA for the purpose of filming the movie WE GOT THE BEAT … The chorus’ payment for the Quebec trip is not due until next month. … The name domain has been registered for an additional five years. A motion was made, seconded and approved that $500 be allocated for the 2008-2009 MH10 Scholarship account. A motion was made, seconded and approved to accept the Treasurer’s September 9, 2008 Report, a copy of which is attached and made a part of these Minutes.
Director’s Report: Jen Moss. On Saturday, April 4, 2009, the drama and choral departments will collaborate on a one evening performance of An Opera Awakening – An Evening of Light Opera. This evening will be produced by Susan Williams with Stage Direction by Linda Potter and Musical Direction by Jeannie Furlan and Jen Moss. Grant(s) are being submitted to fund Mr. John Salvi to appear as a guest and also to do a master class and work with the cast. ABFOM will be asked to provide refreshments with proceeds going back to ABFOM. …. The Opera event offers an opportunity to create a chairmanship in chorus. …. Quebec trip is still being finalized. 130 students are expected to participate …. Cabaret’s logistics are mostly handled by students. The venue will be changed this year to the H.S. auditorium due to increased audience size. There will be a performance at this year’s Oktoberfest on October 4.
Golf Tournament: Erica Davidson. To date sponsorships are falling short of goal. Auction items continue to arrive. There is a link on the ABFOM site for the tournament (registrations, sponsorships, etc.)
